i guess i could always give teaching another shot

even though i will probably be at this same job forever, recently my thoughts and yearnings for a new career have been getting more intense and frequent. going back to school could be an option even though i am terrified by it. do you have any ideas? i really would like to be involved in something i cared about at least a little. any brainstorming help is greatly appreciated.

i hope it involves painting firetrucks or using old cordless phones for ironic reasons

maybe you should revisit the whole physical therapy thing. or maybe personal training. i'm sure these ideas have crossed your mind, but i figured i'd throw them out there anyway. let's see...you like helping/teaching people it seems, you have enormous muscles and you like to write...

Since you have an ISD degree, have you looked into any positions at museums, federal agencies (maybe something like NOAA or NASA), or non-profits? Sometimes they need instructional designers/trainers/learning media people for educational programs and community outreach. It seems like it might be interesting.

thanks dave and jess. while i have given thought to looking into training and nutrition, the thought of going back to school (for a while) is scary and would be really tough to do while still working. i am leaving it open as a possibility. also, jess, your suggestions are helpful as i had not really thought to look into using my degree to do different kinds of work. maybe a change of scenery is what's needed. i dunno. thanks for the input.
